Images Temporarily Disabled in Reader Due To Heavy Traffic

I wasn't prepared for the massive amount of traffic influx that suddenly hit FeedJournal Reader yesterday. I know that some of you ran into errors due to the heavy load, and I apologize for that. As a temporary measure I disabled image support in FeedJournal Reader. But don't worry, images will return soon! I am working hard to find a new and better scalable solution.

  1. You were featured on Lifehacker recently. That probably contributed to the recent influx of traffic. I am here b/c of that post and have to say that I love the concept and look forward to using this service.

  2. Hi Jonas,

Everytime I read Techcrunch.com they are always talking about how scalability is a must!

  3. I found a solution to the problem that scales much better. Give me a couple of days to implement and test it and we should soon have images available again!

  4. Maybe you should find a better webhost? Something with a good bandwidth and enough CPU to take all the traffic? Try Rudolf from THC (company I am working for) as an affordable alternative :) though I guess soon you'll be pretty rich - great job, Jonas!

  5. Mig: Thanks. I checked up your hosting offer but I don't see THC offer ASP.NET or SQL Server. I am looking for something to replace my current hosting provider though.
